Favorite Pictures of Maya

Being home sick affords me a lot of time to catch up on blogging about our kids!

Our friend Andra came to watch Sam and Maya a few weeks ago and she took these pictures of Maya. They are my absolute favorites of her thus far:

These pictures capture the sweet little girl that has been a joy to have around the house. One of my favorite times of the day is when Sam and Maya greet each other after a nap, quiet time, or bed time. Both of them get so excited and just proceed to yell at the tops of their lungs and tackle each other to the floor. Happens every time. It is really sweet.

Maya is Walking!

Maya took her first official steps a month or so ago, however she has been pretty committed to the crawl these days and usually will not walk unless we are holding her hands. She was doing great, but then there was a Katie dropping Maya on her head incident that I think set her back a little while in confidence!

Yesterday we had a breakthrough that makes me say that she is officially a walker. She let go of the couch and walked over to me without asking her to or holding out my hands for her. She continued to do the same several times yesterday. Here is a short video:

Hopefully we can get some more video of this (probably when Sam ins't around) and we will post it when we do.

Finally Outside

It has been a cold winter in Atlanta (for Atlanta standards) so we have been inside more than we typically are for this time of year. However, we finally had a nice weekend this past weekend with temperatures in the mid-60's.

Katie and I are notorious for not waiting to give each other presents, nor our children and in celebration of the warm weather break through, we brought out Sam's tricycle. As with his ski jumping, he still has a long way to go, but he seems to enjoy riding it:

Sam is an Olympics Fan!

Sam and Daddy have been watching a lot of the Olympics in the afternoon together. It seems like there are way too many Ski Jumping events because that it what tends to be on whenever we are watching. Sam does not seem to mind though as he developed his on version of ski jumping seen here:

I think he has a long way to go, but I appreciate the creativity!

Maya's Birthday

Today is Maya's first birthday. I tried to get Sam to sing Happy Birthday to Maya, but he refused. Instead, he sang this rendition of ABC's. Think he has a marching band career in his future?
